Kandy, Sri Lanka

29-30 October 2017

The 14th General Conference was held in Kandy, Sri Lanka between 29-30 October 2017. It was also a historic milestone as the Inaugural Conference of the World United Buddhist Sangha Cultural Exchange Council was held in conjunction with the WBSY conference.

The President of Sri Lanka attended the Closing Ceremony and addressed all in attendance, before presenting awards to some Most Venerables and Venerables, in commendation of their diligent efforts in the promotion and dissemination of Buddhist Dharma.

The 7th Spiritual Dialogue between Theravadayana, Mahayana and Tantrayana Buddhism was also held.

13th General Conference

Dawei, Myanmar

11-12 July 2016

The 13th General Conference of World Buddhist Sangha Youth was held at Myoma Yinngay Temple in Dawei, Myanmar. The theme was: "Unity and Harmony Beyond the Value of Ideology".

The "WBSY Dawei Declaration" was read out at this conference, recognising that different ideologies, sects and schools in Buddhism should seek unity in diversity, thus continue promoting the unity of Buddhism for the better of humankind.

The 6th Spiritual Dialogue between Theravadayana and Tantrayana Buddhism was held prior to the opening ceremony of this conference.

12th General Conference

Lede, Belgium

15-17 October 2015

The 12th General Conference of World Buddhist Sangha Youth was held at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Benelux in Lede, Belgium. The theme was: "The Buddhist's Unity". The 5th Spiritual Dialogue between Theravadayana and Tantrayana Buddhism was held.

Taoyuan, Taiwan

25-29 September 2014

The 11th General Conference of World Buddhist Sangha Youth was held at Gondesan, in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The theme was: "Modern Day Bodhisattva".

10th General Conference

Azusa, California, U.S.A.

27 September - 2 October 2013

The 10th General Conference of World Buddhist Sangha Youth was held at Dhammakaya International Meditation Centre in Azusa, California. The theme was: "The Flourishing of the New Generation of Buddhist in the Era of Globalisation". The 3rd Spiritual Dialogue between Theravadayana and Tantrayana Buddhism was held. The dialogue, spiritual exchange, mutual respect, mutual understanding, and mutual support among different Dharma lineage transmissions served as the unifying, harmonious, friendly, and peaceful power of cohesion, have become a necessity for the survival of Buddhist Sangha communities.

9th General Conference

Munich, Germany & Geneva, Switzerland

7-9 December 2012

The 9th General Conference of World Buddhist Sangha Youth was held at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Bavaria, with the theme: "Global Buddhism". This conference highlighted on the importance of mutual understanding amongst Buddhist traditions. The pronouncement of the European Declaration was also made; this possessed profound historical significance and great practical significance. Furthermore, under the guidance and organization of the Most Venerable Anuruddha Maha Thero, Secretary General of WBSY, a dialogue between the two great Dharma streams of Theravadayana Buddhism and Tantrayana Buddhism’s Chinese Han Transmission Tantrayana Buddhism - Holy Tantra Gu Fan Mi Jin-Gang-Dhyana Buddhism was conducted. In fact, this has extended the Avatamsaka holy condition of the “Avatamsaka meeting” of immeasurable kalpas ago. It has also carried on the “spiritual dialogue” between the two great Dharma streams of Theravadayana Buddhism and Tantrayana Buddhism as personally conducted by the Great Holy Sakyamuni Buddha, certified by Manjusri Buddha, and witnessed by immeasurable Buddhas of multiple heavens over two thousand five hundred years ago.

8th General Conference

Galewela-Dambulla, Sri Lanka

In conjunction with the celebration of the 2600 Buddha Enlightenment Anniversary and World Buddhist Sangha Youth 8th General Conference, under the theme of ‘One Buddha, One Sangha’, the conference celebrated sangha unity, development and leadership for the long-term propagation of Buddhism of the world.

7th General Conference

Taipei, Taiwan

3-8 September 2010

Under the theme of ‘Global Movement in Buddhism- Concern of Balance of Humanity and Ecosystem’, the World Buddhist Sangha Youth of Taiwan, Huayen World together organised the 7th World Buddhist Sangha Youth General Conference, 3-8th September, 2010.

About 1000 sangha members attended the sangha offering ceremony and opening session of WBSY 7th General Conference.

During the conference, Dharma discussion, Dharma research, Dharma talk, cultural and arts exchange, meditation, and pilgrimage tours were arranged by the organisers of the conference.
