Media Launch for Lunar New Year 2018

On 7 February, the official launch for Lunar New Year festivities was held by the Hobart City Council at Salamanca Square. Leaders, members and volunteers from many Chinese communities and associations gathered for a short ceremony, officiated by Acting Lord Mayor of Hobart, Alderman Ron Christie.
This marks the official start to preparations for a series of celebrations, including banquets, festivals, and receptions celebrating the Lunar New Year - Year of the Dog.
