The United Nations International Day of Peace is observed annually on 21 September.

Religions of Peace Tasmania hosted a gathering on 23 September 2018 to commemorate this significant day, held at the University of Tasmania's Multifaith Centre. Representatives from various religions gathered to share their respective meanings of peace, harmony, and tranquility, through chanting, prayers and/or musical pieces.

The Academy was invited to chant the Light of the Universe, as a sharing of Buddhist culture.
