2016/17 Taste of Tasmania

On the first day of 2017, the Academy was once again invited to be a part of the Kids in the Park activities at the annual Taste of Tasmania, as both stallholders and performers. Featuring paper folding and bookmark making activities, as well as giving people a chance to learn more about our School or Chinese culture, or to try on the lion heads, the Academy stall was a popular stop for kids and adults alike. Similar to last year, the activities received widespread support. At noon, the Vajra Lions danced in front of the stage, with Alderman Helen Burnett representing Hobart Lord Mayor, to perform the eye dotting ritual. Following the lion dance were a piano showcase by Young Living Buddha Vajra Sheng-Yuan as well as Dynamic Dhyana Dharani performances by the Vajra Yong-Cheng Young Living Buddhas. Thankyou to all the organisers for arranging this wonderful event and for giving us the opportunity to participate, and thanks to all who paid our stall a visit!
