Launch of the 26th International Chinese Arts Festival


A dinner celebration to launch the 26th International Chinese Arts Festival was held in Melbourne on 29 September 2017.

Dignitaries in attendance included: Consul-General Zhao Jian; Consul for Culture, Chen Xiao; President of the Legislative Council for Victorian Parliament, The Hon. Bruce Atkinson MLC; and President of our Academy, Master Wang.

Consul-General Zhao Jian officially launched the festival, and in his speech, particularly recognised the important role that this event has played in promoting the exchanges between China and Australia: “It is one of the most successful cultural and artistic events organised by the Chinese community in Australia.”

The Hon. Bruce Atkinson MLC highlighted in his speech, the effect of multiculturalism on Melbourne: “One of the reasons why Melbourne has been recognised as the world’s most liveable city for the 7th year in a row is because of its multiculturalism.” He also specifically thanked Master Wang for his ongoing support of events such as the Arts Festival.
